EARLY GERMAN CHRISTMAS SANTA CANDY CONTAINERGREAT STERN FACE SANTA c1910
EARLY STERN-FACED GERMAN SANTA CANDY CONTAINER c1910! Offering a GREAT Father Christmas / Santa candy container. He measures 7.5 tall and is all original. His face, hands, and boots are made of papier-mache and he stands on a wood base.
This Santa has an awesome face with beautiful hand-painted features such as his white swan eyebrows and baby blue eyes, and he has very pronounced molded cheekbones. He has a rabbit fur beard and mustache that shows wear from age. The snow on his coat is particularly well done and looks just like the way real snow bunches up and sticks to clothing!
He holds his original feather tree that is firmly stuck in his hand. His feather tree has five colorful glass bulbs on it and he holds a gold bulb in his hand. His candy container compartment is clean and opens and closes easily. The base where he stands is made of wood and covered in mica. It is unmarked underneath and there is just an old pencil mark that reads 25. Even though he is unmarked, this Santa is undoubtedly German-made. This adorable small Santa would make a great addition to any antique Christmas collection! See my other auctions for other antique holiday items.
