Ino Schaller For David Strand Designs: "Winterberry Nicholas" Papier-Mache Container. Handmade in Germany exclusively for David Strand Designs in 2009 using Schaller Family original mold. Features a Russian-style Santa carrying a small tree. This container was lavishly hand-decorated with rich lacquer and fine glitter.

Santa's long coat was hand-painted with a holly and. Berry decoration outlined with fine gold glitter and set against a lustrous black satin lacquer. The same black lacquer was used to finish the top of his hat and the red lacquer used for the berries on his coat was also used to finish his mittens and shoes. Golden glitter was used to trim his coat and hat and to finish the tree he carries.

This striking container is a testament to the talented team of artisans in Germany who produced it. Container was dated, signed and numbered by the artist.
