DeBrekht hand crafted and hand painted figurines and ornaments. DeBrekht piece starts as a hand carving and is hand painted freehand, using authentic old-world techniques. Then a mold is made from the wooden carving and a special wood-based resin material is used to exactly cast replicas of the original. Each piece is then painstakingly hand painted freehand, without guidelines or decals. Many of the figures are based on the traditional Russian folklore that has inspired artists, writers, & composers for centuries.

The result of this difficult process is a magnificent collection of limited edition figures that embody all of the artistic genius and cultural history of Russian art. DeBrekht first started to create wood carved figurines with illustrations and fine decorative ornamental paintings with the creation involving many artist and art styles to collaborate on one piece of art. Every artist paints a part, in the area that they specialize in, once it has gone around to all of the artist the piece is finally complete. From the time a piece is being carved and designed to the time it gets painted to become a finished product; with all perfect detailing and very many brush strokes. The artists paint everything free hand, there are no guides or stencils used.

This is why every figurine will be similar to the other but never exactly the same; two similar figurines, but different characters, expressed by the artist.
