Old Antique Erzgebirge Wendt & Kuhn Wooden Angels 11 dot wings Music Instrument

  
They all have 11 dot wings except for three angels. More about those three below. The 11 dots are significant and represent the hurdles the little W&K angel had to overcome to become the hero he is in the angel story. 18 of my angels have 11 dots (W&K), 15 of which still have their sticker. Three angels have 7 dots on each wing and a blue stamp on the bottom.

The 7 dot angels have a blue base instead of gray. They were also made in the town of Erzgebirge and the stamp is of a burning oil lamp with the letter'e' inside. These were made by KDE Ellman, another family of well respected wooden angel makers. The first winged messenger by W&K was made in 1923 and the customary 11 dot angels began 8 years after that (1931).

It will be a hundred years for them next year! I just don't have room for all my lovely things!

The angels are all in very good to excellent condition. There are 3 or 4 angels that have a bit of missing paint at the base of the wings. You can see this in one of the listed pictures.

Most have stickers on the bottom. The stickers came off and my daughter -when she was little- "taped them back on"?? However, most collections have lost their stickers so at least these are still present. Any questions or further information please feel free to ask.
