Vintage Christmas Wax Over Paper Mache SNOWMAN CANDY CONTAINER (c. 1940s)

  

PLEASE CHECK OUT ALL MY OTHER ANTIQUE CHRISTMAS-THEMED ITEMS! Listed for sale is a vintage SNOWMAN CANDY CONTAINER Christmas figure from America (or possibly Germany) c. This snowman is unusual in that it's constructed of molded paper mache material and THEN covered in wax. The snowman sports a red painted top hat and holds a red shovel in one hand.

Around his neck is a green'pipe cleaner' scarf. The snowman stands on a large snowy mound with sprigs of greenery attached on either side. There are also areas of glitter in places that sparkle in the light. The snowman is also a CANDY CONTAINER with the opening visible on the underside (the plug is missing).

This snowman is quite a show piece and measures 8 1/4 inches high x 6 5/8 inches wide. It remains in very good overall condition with some surface cracking of the wax layer and other minor wear / soiling. This vintage item would be a terrific decorative piece at the holidays or throughout the winter season! Sales to international customers ARE permitted.
